Hey I just found out about Jamie and I didn't want to flood her family with questions during their time of grief. My husband and her were pretty good friends and he has been in training in califorina. I was starting to get to know her my self. What happend? When did she get in the car accident? If I am prying to much I do apologize. Thank you for your time and my prayers are with her loved ones, and those who were very close to her.
  • Cody West

    Turk,
Do you know Jamie's Last name, she never would tell me. I was in the Mojave Desert in California when she passed, so I didn't hear about the accident until almost 2 weeks later. She was a good friend and a awesome person. Stay safe man.

Thank you for the comments. our officers are appionted by the chief. Most of the time they do it by training but i just found out for sure some1 with less years in and just with a hand full of class got LT. The chief is family to him.

hey thanks for the comment i hope everything is going good for u and ur family. My mom says hi as well.
  • chek435

Hey bro. I got your message in my forum. All I can say is that you are carrying too much of a load. The Chief IS a load and so are the other officers. The excess stress is now effecting you physically. You're well on your way to flaming out. If you don't change things , you will. Suggestion. Don't quit doing what you love to do and are good at. Give the company an ultimatum. If they're not going to carry their share then you take a demotion or give up your rank. Let someone else be the 'whipping boy' It's not worth losing your health over. Then you won't be able to do the job AT ALL. Bottom line is, you have to make a change. Good luck and keep in touch.
  • chek435

There's a chain of command for a reason....delegate some of your authority (you're allowed to do that!) to the officers under you. If they don't get it done, fire their asses up. Don't try to carry the world on your shoulders.....it's too heavy and will soon break you!
  • John Kriska

Doing fine here in St. Louis, MO. Cold, about 12 inches of snow but melting. Have you used the PPT on PPA with your Firefighters? If so, how did it go?

  • A.J.

  • Aric Stewart

hope all is well in your neck of the neighborhood and stay safe out there
  • Todd Duncan

what's up, buddy? long time no hear. things have been pretty busy down here. hope you had a good holidays... stay safe.
  • Randy Macey

All is well up here, should have a couple of warmer days so I can get some outside work done. Looks like it might change this place into an ice rink. How goes it your way, all safe and all good?
  • Randy Macey

Everything comes in threes.... Just recop from a house fire, long when it's 4a.m. Last week we had a bit of a snow storm up here, got my work truck stuck in the driveway sideways. Got my personal truck and did not know that that the window wipers where on. To much snow on the windshield so burned out the motor. Wife calls me to tell me that we have a water leak inside the house. So there are my threes and I was done for that night.... Can't get any worse I hope! Take Care....

Hey brother what I did was I went to the local BSA headquarters and told them my intentions and they gave me all the materials that I needed to do it, the explorer post are done through them so they can have insurance then I went to the local high schools and put out flyers then I attended the local FF association and told them and they adopted us into the association and they pay the insurance for each explorer we located a meeting place and started up. I started off with 4 kids now have 38 and we are in our second year IT WILL GROW TRUST ME. If you have any questions email me at dwomble6116@bellsouth.net I will be glad to help.
  • Randy Macey

Digging out from that nasty storm that you guys decided to share with us. 750ft driveway with over a foot of snow, was not nice to wake up to.
Just finished, needed to fix the blower on the tractor. Finally caught up on some sleep, had a fire the other night or should say early morning.
4a.m. call out to a private road, thought it was a mutual aid call. But found out it was dispatch wrong, the Erin Fire got two of there trucks stuck. House had been rocking for some time, was already through the roof and not much left of it by the time we got there. Finished around 5pm and then back for the next day with the Fire Marshall to determin the cause. Was interesting, but unsure what the cause was at this time.

Oil in your SCBA not good at all, not sure why yoru Chief is pissed at you. You did the right thing by pulling them out of service. Think he would or should understand that. But then again it's the Chief's call if he wants to put them back and his responsiblity after that point.

Seems Feb. is one of those months that everything seems to just go wrong, but then again. You look on the bright side, our health is ok.
