Growing up a group of my friends were firefighters and I couldn't do it because of having asthma. I moved to Virginia, and one of the jobs I had, the EMT's were always stopping by on their way back from a call... after talking to them several times, and becoming friends with them, it's what I wanted to do. I love to help people.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love the adrenaline rush that I get when the tones go off for one thing, and for the other, I just love helping people.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
We need more Volunteers!! We can never have enough help.
I'll hope you'll take a minute to consider signing the FRC's online petiton (www.FirstResponseCoalition.org) to make September 25th "National First Responder Appreciation Day!"

Your loss is our loss. We are all a family & when one of us make the supreme sacrifice, we all lose a piece of our hearts. May the Lord & all of our Fallen Brothers & sisters look over your family & the families of the other Brothers.

Check out Roll Call Forum and put some info about your Fire House in... Like to hear what your station is like, what you have as well as for number for firefighters as well as number of calls. Pass it around to your Firefighter Friends too....
Oh believe me I know all about the family thing, I have family from Canada to Florida and from Vegas to New York and in between! Makes for good vacations though! We got some rain on Monday but not enough to really help.
Urge Congress to give our first responders the national day of appreciation they deserve by visiting http://www.fixtheradios.org/campaign/nfrad_petition3 .
The First Response Coalition (www.FirstResponseCoalition.org) has succeeded in having a Congressional resolution introduced recognizing September 25, 2007 as “National First Responder Appreciation Day!”
Getting the resolution introduced is an important first step, but we still have to convince Congress to act! Interested first responders can send a letter to Congress in support of the resolution by visiting the FRC website at - http://www.fixtheradios.org/campaign/nfrad_petition3
