Hello my name is Scott Fiske. I am sure you receive a lot of these questions but I have applied through Avue for 6 years without any success. I have been in the fire service for 9 years and have numerous certifications in Fire and EMS. What I am wondering is how do I get in? Thank you for your time.

We just received an old 11hp Wa-Jax Pump on a skid tank from the forest service. We got the engine running again, but have not been able to figure out the valve configuration to operate the pump. It has an exhaust primer on it but we can't get the pump to prime. Anybody know of an operators manual or have some practical experience with these units.

Thanks Gary

Dwight: I have a few. California Dozer Ops. and El Dorado NF. I've got another patch from the Uinta/Wasatch-Cache NF but I'm partial to that one, its my home forest and they stopped doing patches last year and it's the last one I've got

Will: the USFS hires high school students for trail crews. to be on a FS fire crew you have to be 18. go to the forest service website, click employment. you can narrow your search as much as you want. just an fyi the broader your application boundry the more likely you are to get hired. good luck and hope to see you in FS greens someday!

I am looking for wildland fire patches, hotshots, helitack and state forest protection/fire patches. I have British Columbia forest service fire control patches as well as other hotshot and state patches. Let me know

Will: Go to the DCNR Forestry district office in you area and talk to either the Fire Forester or the district Forest Fire Inspector. They can give you info on wildland crews in your area.
