Can I get some ideas for exercises, workouts that people do to stay in shape for work? Calesthetics? Kettleball Techniques, P90x. Be as specific as possible (exercise, reps, whole workout, what you do!)

by the Insanity videos. you dont need any equipment, and its mainly cardio, with plyometrics and resistance training. it's a great workout ...you will get results... fast
i've heard insanity has good reviews. Do you know any exercises they use? Whilemy pocket book is thin, can I access these wokouts anywhere / what do you do at the stations?
While surfing one day I came arross the website http://firefighterfitnessformula.com/. It is basically a weightloss program, but it has a good workout.

I admit I have not followed the nutrition plan (I hate the word diet), but the workout is really good. I expanded it to 60 second sets with 15 second rest. It is a good mix of cardio and weight training. It is short (20 minutes) and does not require a lot of equipment.

I believe they'd be closest to you, or perhaps you could find a CrossFit place closer..

CrossFit would definitely be beneficial... much more than P90x or Intensity. I'm going through a fire academy right now and nothing could have helped me more than doing CrossFit every day of the week like I do. There are plenty of workouts where I'll have all my gear on or just my air pack. I even got ahold of some 2 1/2in hose and use it for cleans and such.

CrossFit hasn't been around but for a few years, but it's getting more and more popular... especially in the firefighting world. My uncle is a firefighter in Guam and even his officers have them do CF workouts everyday on shift.
My personal preference is my P90X. We do not work out as a department, however, I willingly make my discs available to my guys. It is a series of 12 different DVDs. You follow a specific set of DVDs for 3 weeks, then switch it up on the fourth week. The workout places emphasis on "muscle confussion." Tony's opinion and research has led him to believe that with normal gym workouts, the body hits a plateau after a certain amount of time, but with this workout, you end up doing something different nearly each day.

Out of the series, my favorites are the Kenpo, Yoga and Ab Ripper. The equipment needed is pretty cheap; simply go to Walmart and purchase a pull-up bar, a set of adjustable Dumbells and perhaps a set of Resistance bands. The longest video of the set is the Yoga at a little over 90 minutes.

Of course, there is a diet plan that one can follow, as well as different products that can be purchased through the web... ie: Shakeology, nutrition bars, etc... I'll be honest, I don't mess with all that.
