What kind of leather do you have?

What brand of leather helmet do you run? Mine is an '02 Cairns Sam Houston N6A. I actually bought it off eBay for $270. Got it and looked it up, the helmet is a deluxe version..its sells for about $500 or so brand new. Not a bad deal..

Does anyone have a phenix TL2 leather helmet? Ive been looking at them online but i dont know a lot about them. I dont want to waste my money on junk. I currently wear an 06 cairns n5a and im looking for an old style cairns 5a or i might try the TL2. If anyone has one let me know what you think.

I'm very very pleased with my N6a, although I've never used the N5a (because of department compliance with NFPA), but my N6a is the only helmet I wear, and will ever wear.

My Sam Houston just arrived a few days ago, and so far I love it. I was a New Yorker man before. The Sam Houston is a little heavier but I also feel more protected. Waiting on my shield to come in the mail and then I can put it in service. Leather is the way to go.

I have a PC Heritage and a Houston. The PC sits lower,but is alot heavier than the Sam.Like 'em both.

A while back I posted stating iI wear a N5A that was correct unitll a 2 weeks ago when I got promoted to Lt. and then issued a MP plastic lid.. that lasted untill to day when I recieved my N6A deluxe edition in the mail that I bought off Craigslist for $380.00. Its an 2006 editon and never been repainted and never seen any fire and was already the right color for Lt. at my department which is yellow. So I own 2 leathers now I red New Yorker that i wore for 10 yrs sitting at home now and my new Houston which is on the truck.

I'm waiting on my first leather (N5A) to arrive from thefirestore.com. I've wanted one for years, so it's my Christmas present / "finally off active duty" gift to myself! I've owned a Cairs 880 since the early '90's, and currently wearing a dept issued Bullard traditional -- until the leather gets here!
