Hi everyone, it's great to know that there is a site that I don't have to be caution in what and how I can talk, nothing bad. I live about 2 hours from P-Town, Massassachusetts Gay Capital.

To the creator of this group or to anyone who might know!
But was wondering the picture of the fire/ems/rscue patch that is the main picture for this group, is that a real patch? and if so where can I get it from? would be great if someone knows the answers and can help me!

thanks,
Rob

Do you know of or belong to an LGBT firefighting, rescue or ems organization that would benefit others in our community around the country or world?

As an out lesbian and former law enforcement officer and EMT (am still involved in OEM and emergency communications), I have decided to give back to our community in various ways.

We are continuously updating our new and exciting all gay resources "LGBT CAT toolbar: http://lgbtminute.ourtoolbar.com/

LGBT CAT was a brainchild of mine born out of the need to incorporate many of the LGBTQ services, publications, organizations, music, news, legal, Pride, youth, etc in one easy to use place!

Please check out LGBT CAT and be sure to look for the "LGBT Public Safety Professionals"

If you know of a site/organization that would benefit others, please drop us a note and link!
Thanks and be safe out there!

Hello everyone! I have been a firefighter for over 15 years in a small community. My father, brothers and sister-in-law are aloso on the fire department. I came out to my family 5 years ago. Most of the fire department members know and i'm sure the rest assume. I have never been disrespected by anyone on the fire department. We are one big family and they accept me for who I am. Most of the men joke around with me about it. I am very happy with who I am and for who God made me. My family loves me and that's all that matters. Life is to short to worry about what other people think! Be happy with who you are!

I see my other half Amy has already commented on this issue but, I feel I need to say something as well. I feel just like with any family there needs to be some sort of respect for you and fellow members when it comes to their personal lives. There is a lot of trust in this line of work between your "family" that is number one. If you feel there is a problem just talk about it. This is coming from a lesbians' point of view. I know things can be a lot different for gay men. Just remember talking to your brothers or sisters may relieve any tension they may be there. I hope that helps. P.S. Be proud of who you are!

Hello friends! I have been in EMS for 10 years and was on the EMS side of a fire department. As I knew I would I fell in love with the fire side as well...so to fufill my childhood dreams I went through FFI and FFII so now I feel that I am right where I belong! My Department is so awesome!!! I could not ask for better brothers... Being gay is only part of who we are as people and FF; and they get that! Hope all of you are well and safe out there
