Yep, sounds like your situation is pretty much the same as mine David. All good. We also have our annual presentation dinner coming up in October. My partner will be there, and I am due for a 10 year service award this year.
I'm also in our competition team, which involves lot of intense training and being in close quarters (change rooms, showering, overnight stays, etc) with the other guys in the team. I'm respected for what I can do - being strong and fast, as well as a ladder specialist helps! :)
Have about the same here, most don't care its a non issue treat me the same as always. Total respect and treat me like a brother. Like you those who have a problem keep it to themselves and are professional. Either way I am going to be me. In Georgia here.Oh yeah, love trivia nights!
That's good to hear David. My partner is automatically invited to social functions. Had a great night at the trivia night last Saturday, and we have a spit roast/drinks/spa with the coach of our competition team this Saturday.
The majority are supportive, there's a couple of smaller minorities - some who I have less contact with who haven't heard about my sexuality (what rock were they hiding under? ;) ), and some who just stick strictly to "business".
Me too Tony, I am out to my department as well, they are accepting and very supportive. That is the ones who matter. And they think the world of my husband Clint.
Yeah, everyone must have been busy. :) Hopefully, more people will join in the discussion.
I'm off to a trivia night fundraiser at our fire station with my partner. We're out and ourselves with my fellow firefighters. :)
Wow, no comments since February, that's some busy fire fighters and EMS workers. Hoping to strike up some friendships with folks like me, out proud public safety workers.
thanks tony! :)
Welcome Julie! :)
Hey guys! I'm new to the group. I hope everyone has had a great safe weekend!
Thanks, just checking it out. :)
