The past six months have been a mix of old school backyard workouts, body weight excersise, crossfit, running, kettlebells, and free weights. Needless to say, I've seen tramendous results from when I started on this voyage.
In the past month, my coworkers and I have ended our PT sessions running up and down the stairwell of a 4 story building, 4 times, while wearing 25 pound weight vests, and carrying heavy sandbags, ending each set with pushups, crunches, and planks.

I have tried many different training programs for my own fitness in the past. But, now I am starting as a VFD in a couple of weeks I needed something different then just the regular training styles. A friend of mine told me about a program called stronglifts 5 x 5, which I started two weeks ago. I hadn't been to the gym for about 3 months after working out quite consistently for about a year before that and I was getting a little squidgy. Even after two weeks I have never seen such quick improvements compared to the other programs I have been on. The idea is to get the person as strong as possible as quickly as possible and not worry about being a big bulky juice head. There are no one lift maximums it is all down to how much you can lift within 5 reps of 5 sets, the program is more in depth than that description though. I know each person have their own ideas, and I think this is one of the best for what we do.
