IN Bridgeport, Ct this shows 1 side of the Former Union Metallic Cartridge (UMC)/Remington Arms FactoryOver the last ten years hundreds of Fires in the vacant building I retired in 2010 and was there at several Myself The pump shown is a 1992 Pierce Lance  1250/500         Remington.jpg

Just  remember 1 length  isnt  enough 95% of the time unless  youhave  a dry Hydrant  you might have to go  3 ... THis is another  option IF You  dont  have   hard sleeves, just take the cap off...lol

Up in here drafting is the only way to get water on scene. we have a couple of towns that do not have hydrants. it is an absolute must.

I think that every pump operator should know how to pull a draft....  just because you may be in a city or an area that has hydrants you should still know how to do it..  what if your working a fire and your water system goes down??  and its part of being a good engineer!!!!

ALL pump operators should know how to draft. A pump operator that doesnt know how to draft only knows half the job. You need to know how to use a pump in all its abilities.
