The Cl-215 & Cl-415 are impressive aircraft that I have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with on Wildland Fire Operations in Canada.

The SuperScooper CL-415 Bombardier runs approximately $ 32 Million per aircraft.

The 415 is in use worldwide, though mostly in Canada, Italy, Croatia & Greece. They are Manufactured in Canada.

You could possibly secure a ride along via Ministry of Natural Resources who operates the CL-415 in Ontario for Wildland Fire Suppression Operations. I would initiate contact via the Ontario MNR Website.

This is an awsome looking air plane. Do they allow ride alongs? I would love to see this in person. Whats the cost for purchasing a plane such as this for Firefighting?

Newer Model CL-415 Bombardier - SuperScooper Water Bomber.

The CL-415 can scoop up 6,140 Litres /1350 Imperial Gallons or 1,620 U.S Gallons of water from any nearby water source. It can mix a chemical foam with the water, if desired, and drop it on any specific area of the fire.
The 415 was specifically developed to provide the capability to deliver massive quantities of suppressant in quick response to Wildland Fires. The aircraft is built for reliability and longevity, with use of corrosion-resistant materials. Water loads are scooped through two ports that measure 4 x 6 inches.

While at the Redmond Smoke jumper base Staging they had a Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane chopper staging as well and we got close enough to get some pics even though they did not turn out real great..
