I found some of my pics taken during a GQ drill on the Kearsarge. I was part of the DC Training Team onboard. there. I loved being involved in all aspects of DC but really enjoyed training the "kids". And as you will see from the pics...I LOOOOOVED the smoke machines!!!

Ric, Sorry for not replying sooner. I never got a notice that you had replied and have been really crazy busy lately. To answer your questions, I liked the "gator navy" much better the first time than I did on the second one. Could be the diff between east coast and west coast. Not sure. I'm an AM now since the merger of the structures and hydraulics parts, but yes back then AMS was structures. I didn't work directly on any of those planes I was in I-level repair in the AIMD so I fixed parts. I am now at FRC Patuxent River. FRC is what has become of AIMDs. I'm a division LPO now.

Hey Shawn, welcome aboard!!!! Sorry for the delay in reply (I'm on vacation in So. Cal). So you were on the USS Peleliu huh? How do you like the "Gator Navy"? "AMS" is that aviation structural machanic? So do you work on helos or AV-8's? I think I'll stick with "Duty Fire Marshall" since that's what I did (funny, I hadn't thought about that...lol).
