Hey, If you have not pumped 12-1 I suggest you get some hands on. Drafting is a little different and you must pay attention. You have to get a solid draft with the new precon valve. It takes some getting use too. Pratice practice. Good job on the Stomemento Stable Fire!

Yes Greg, i agree with you about the balance of class room and hands on. And I am sorry Rusty that I have not been to calls, i have been working all day every day for the last week. But i am still going to the training.

Thank you George and Greg.Last week we had 14 people for training, that's a good indicator that some of our folks are coming back around. We have just a few months left before the holiday season.I would like to get in some more hands on training ,so keep up the good work, and tell you brothers what a good time we had and they don't wont to miss the next one.

Training is a consent. Some class room trianing is a must ,boring as it seems. Hands on training is far better. But you have to have a balance of both. sometimes class room training is the only way to train when you do not have the number of people to put on hands on. It is a shame the same ole group shows up for training and we have to put on surprize training to get a major turn out. We are leader for our side of Aiken County. But it is hard to stay that when we don't train. We are # 1 with dump and pump. Why because we practice and put it into place. We have a great reputation for our medical first response. We train. Rusty can not do it all. Step up to plate and help. There is no I in team.

I agree with rusty, i admit i dont get to every single training but if people dont show we cant take care of a scene properly and effectively. Yes we all agree that classroom work is boring but most people have done it for at least 12 years of school. Once a week is not bad at all. Yes, the hands on stuff is great but if all you do is that and dont have class time to discuss what happened and what could be done to make it better is pointless. We all need to do a better job about going to trainings and meetings. To me, I think we are one of the best fire departments in this area. So lets keep it up and work on our team work.

Training is something you have to memorize in your human instincts.I will go back to the potty training thing. If you think about it, potty training is memorize training even at a young age, you had absorbed it in your mind. Most people don't even remember being potty trained, but whats fascinating is you remembered. That's because your momma kept training you over and over and over.Hey guess what, you were in training. It blows my mind when I watch some folks on call/scene that cant remember what to do. This is the reason you must keep training over and over and over.Keep reading every thing you can and keep coming to training over and over. This is the way to memorize what to do, when you need to do it.Coming to training once in a while wont be enough to burn it in your memory bank of what you need to be doing and how to do.Those are the folk's that run round and round in circles at the scene or the person that wants to be the big wheel IC then all of a sudden, they say oh crap what do I do now!The only way to be consistent as a team to accomplish a positive out come on a call/scene is to, KEEP COMING TO TRAINING.Now lets not for get that hands on is great, but there's the every now and then (must do in classroom as well.)

Thank you:
Rusty

You are very welcome rusty. I am glad you are coming up with these ideas for hands on training. They actually help me out a lot more than reading the the books and the slide shows. IT gives me actual experience
