Start with the manufacturer of your bunkers. Most manufacturers have suppliers of the reflective stripes. There arnt many different ones. I just bought a whole roll from them of the Glow-Flex stripping. This is the tripple trim stripping that not only is reflective but glows for anout 45 minutes after being lit up. They are on the net as

Kind of begs the question; If you need to replace the reflexite stripes, how compliant are your turnouts?
Go to the mfg....not only will they have them but they can also arrange to put them on for you....They use Kevlar thread in the process and it won't burn off so easily.....Paul
vewy vewy true!
I thought you had to have your gear repaired with by the manufacturer of a certified place. It would be a shame to get hurt from installing your strips yourself.
Talk to your department's supplier. They can contact the manufacturer and replace parts as necessary, or your may need whole new bunker gear if they're unserviceable.

i would say that is up to you dept, once you start changing you gear you gotta be carefull about the nfpa standerds
yeah, Im in a volunteer department. My pant stipes are yellow and my jacket stripes are orange. It was all that was really available that fit me and that was in good condition. I was just curious if i bought some new stripes if I could just sew them on over the smaller yellow stripes, so i don't look so much like a probie on scene.thanks guys, ill check these sources out and run it by my captain before i make a final decision.
So it's a fashion thing! Sheesh.
Your profile says you're in the fire service 1 month. Don't know about you but that sure as hell sounds like a probie to me. What would you prefer to be mistaken for? A crusty ole jake?
gear dosent make the firefighter, what you know and how you act makes the firefighter.
yeah i am a probie obviously i have much to learn ,just trying to look in uniform with the rest of my crew and department, since i know looking professional in public is important in the fire service. maybe ill give the whole a idea a re-think
