The Social Network & Community JUST for Firefighters
What would your FF/EMS TV be like
It seems hollywood can never get a fire service related show right. Rescue Me comes close but its more soap opera then fire stuff. What would your TV be like?
Mine
A volunteer fire company. Predomintely black Suburban but not urban - Dramedy, Serious with some funny
Cast
Chief - Old timer well liked but stuck in his ways
Deputy - Young progessive and ready to upgrade but the chief feels he's not quite ready for the big radio. The younger members wants him to be chief
President - Thinks running the hall and bar are more important then getting the fire engines out.
Treasurer - Has secrets, can he be trusted, only time will tell
FF1 has no fear and knows everything and hates newbys, Always wants the line and nothing else.
FF2 The ladies man Always has a new lady and sometimes two at the fire house to impress them. Always seems to "just" miss the engine
FF3 The white guy that acts black. Even has a black wife.
FF4 Female can do the job but not allowed too until she proves herself.
FF5 The cleaner, all he does is clean the equipment
Others members to fill out various roles.
Stories -
1-FF2 has a lady at the fire house who doesn't get off the engine in time when it goes to a fire
2- Chief looks back on a bad fire years ago
3- They go to a conference and zany things happen (No this never happened to me in real life...seriously. I didn't know that was a strip club)
Just something I threw together. Probably could use some stuff from life as long as names are changed to protect the guilty and innocent.

Bring back EMERGENCY make it up to date.
Volunteer wise I would think of a mixed membership of members with a soap opera background.
How about a Mayberry type of show.
I thought what if Ladder 49 was made into a TV show and continue to use Baltimore as the back drop to the show.

I always thought bringing back Emergency with an updated cast and story would be great. How about a young female Firefighter/Paramedic as the lead (In Randy Mantooth's old place). Think New Hawaii Five-O compared to the Original Hawaii Five-O.

Would it be "Hawaii Five-One?" LoL
It is the only place I know of where they keep a surf board on the Engine!

I hope it works for you. I was thinnking about what would a TV show about my department be like.......maybe HBO late night would be best. Definitely not PBS or basic cable material.
