What was the "Fluffiest" piece of equipment your department ever purchased?

A department where I worked bought a Golf Cart, and outfitted it with  Rapid Response Gear in order to provide EMS service to down-town residents during Friday Night Markets. We had a full complement of ALS gear, and some basic suppression gear. We also ran a bike program to support it's operation. (Sorry...I can't find any pictures at the moment)

The cart had fancy lettering, radios, lights and siren!

look at you trying to stir up trouble, mister...

i missed you too...
In downtown Pittsburgh Pennsylvania they do the same thing. BMW's with lights and big bags strapped to the back. Pretty neat if you think about it.
where are their ambulances?
are they like CPR mobiles?
i really want a ride to the hospital too ;-)
You have to ride pillion. This can make CPR and maintaining an IV difficult.
were can I get one.
Fluffy stuff we purchased? let me see here, oh i know my turnout gear size 54 coat , plus the pants that makes me fluffy not fat (heard that on comedy channel)
Dude...really? He said fluffy. Because you disagree with its tactical value does not make that purchase fluffy.
LMAO!
There are no words to describe the idiocy that you just described...
A helmet cam perhaps? That is just about the only unnecessary (but still useful if used properly) thing that was purchased. It helps with recruitment, smoke study, review of tactics and fire behavior, as well as response critiques...its fluffy but not wasteful...
Keep in mind, that I used the word Fluffy, in lieu of other pointed adjectives....LOL

In my mind, the golf cart only highlights the disparity in funding to fire departments (not that I have to point that out). Maybe it's just that my frame of reference was based on the department I had left $1.2 mil budget/10 FF's/1 station that ran the ambulance service), versus the one I went to, that could afford some fluff ($28mil budget, 175 FF's/11 stations)

When I saw what some of the Olbion County TN Districts run on ($8000 a year +/-), it just made me think about the subject of spending.
A hose rack we didn't have any hose for.To impress the folks who came in to do any standbys for us.No further comment from here other than I think we might have it sold to a dept. who needs it.
