I'm not sure these things are good. If you know what you are doing the bag won't go off. It usually goes off by something we did. Think about it, this is triggered by a small explosion (sodium azide pellet) which produces nittrogen used to inflate the bag. Would you put a plug in the barrel of a gun to keep it from firing? I don't think so.
Disarm the power to the bag by removing a battery cable. This may or may not tack care of the problem. Some bags take 45 minutes to disarm, some a matter of seconds. Just don't cut and big red wires or the box they go into. If you see the word "ACHTUNG!" stay away. That is attention in german.
"the octpus" never heard it called this. Our Dept uses a device called "the bag buster" its a yellow steel plate that bolts over the the steering wheel and has some teeth on the inside that"if " the bag goes off the force is absorbed by the plate and deflated by the teeth.
