S.C.B.A. air cylinder colors what's your faveortite one

OK so recently I have come across a topic inside of a topic dealing with the color of air cylinder on our S.C.B.A. and of those colors what one or combo of colors is best.

In case you are still wondering this is a joke but still I think it would be interesting to find out I for right now am going with White as the color of shoice becuse of heat absorption but I am leaning towords chrome plated tp reflect the heat (Thank your Cpt. Busy for the idea)

I read somewhere that they make a SCBA unit that uses medical grade oxygen instead of breathing air. Not sure why or who or if they are a good idea but I did hear of them making it. Any opinions on these?

On January 27, 1967, tragedy struck the Apollo program when a flash fire occurred in command module 012 during a launch pad test of the Apollo/Saturn space vehicle being prepared for the first piloted flight, the AS-204 mission. Three astronauts, Lt. Col. Virgil I. Grissom, a veteran of Mercury and Gemini missions; Lt. Col. Edward H. White, the astronaut who had performed the first United States extravehicular activity during the Gemini program; and Roger B. Chaffee, an astronaut preparing for his first space flight, died in this tragic accident. The cause of this fire was a short in the electrical system in an enriched Oxygen atmosphere. I believe this picture speaks for itself. This wouldn't bee a very good idea if there was ANY chance of a spark.

I could have sworn that there was a manufacturer that made BA's that used medical grade O2 bottles. That may have been a long time ago but I was sure about hearing about them. Maybe Capt. Busy can help LOL.

So you want color choices? Hmmm... There are only so many colors offered by the SCBA manufactures...

We have the beautiful blue tanks from Draeger...

We also have some tanks made using different shades of yellow. The newer yellow tank below is also a Draeger.

But then again, yellow isn't exactly a new color. Old guys like FETC and Oldman remember the old Scott SCBA bottles...

Scott also uses yellow for their SCBA tanks.

And while we are talking about yellow tanks, why don't USA firefighters wear the dual air tank pack, like this one that by the way uses yellow tanks...

Now if you are into fluorescent colors, specifically green, then you will want the MSA SCBA.

For those black tank fans, there is always the Interspiro SCBA's...

And of course, there is the old white tank standby made by Survivair...

Last on the list of colors would be the carbon fiber tanks that cannot be painted but have a characteristic look, regardless of the manufacturer.

Finally, there are tanks made out of metal, but to be honest I cannot really place any manufacturer that actually uses them for SCBA's.

Now that we have actual colors of SCBA's to look at, perhaps we might be able to come to a consensus about what our favorite ones are...

Note: My mentioning to the author of this post the question as to why SCBA tanks are not chrome plated to reflect heat was meant to be nonsense... yes, sometimes I have been known to post answers that are less than accurate.

But then again, can you really have enough bling?
