What kind of rope are you talking about, a personal bailout rope or a search rope?

It would be bailout rope.

I carry mine in my coat pocket, use it for pulling tools up, search rope or to bail if I have to. I have 75 feet of 7 mm.

Well Rich i have 50' of rope in my tool belt built in its from fire innovations. It was a little pricey

First, the obvious answer is that it will become an entaglement hazard. Second, a bailout rope is a single purpose rope, to save your ass. If you use it for a utility rope, then you may find that when you need to bail, its not ready. Third, use one of your bellows pockets on your leg, it works perfectly.

I kind of like that pocket idea, ive seen it before in the leg pocket but never thought of keeping it in jacket pocket. What would be a good size and length rope for utility and bailout?
