Ok everyone,
This is my first, but probably not last, post on here. I really need some ideas from the Firefighter Nation. My fire company has always had issues with recruiting new members but lately our numbers have dwindled, either because members have quit or we have chased them away for good reason. We currently have around 25 members with only about half of that being anyway close to active. We also run EMS and the number of EMT's we have is scary! We live in a community outside of Marietta, Ohio where the population is in the high middle class. Most of our citizens are either elderly or "well to do" so to speak. No one seems to want to join anymore.
I am looking for recruitment ideas from the Nation. We are in the process of starting up a retirement program but I want to hear what other depts. have done that worked.
