I have been asked by my Logistics officer to come up with a new solution for putting names on helmets. My thought is to use helmet bands with lettering on them. Does anyone know of stickers, or paint that would stay on rubber, and would still be OK in a fire?

For most places the NFPA is just guidelines, good guidelines that help and need to be followed. I think even with proper accountability if I'm in charge of a scene and can look at someones helmet and see there number or name it just makes life easier and the job quicker. Besides I dont see one inch vinyl stickers doing any harm. If it's hot enough for the stickers to melt or catch fire you are going to have more worry about than that.
Just out of curiosity, how did this turn from a name on the helmet to an accountablity tag discussion? He was asking about applying names on the back of a helmet for identification, not accountability. Unless I missed something.
