Fire station slide



Was looking at an old IFSTA book where some departments had replaced fire poles with fire slides and decided to see what was online and found this picture. It's Dublin, Ohio's Station 95 with a 2-story slide. The station is located inside a water tower, and the slide was added instead of a pole due to the "abnormally tall vehicle storage bay."

poles are more fun we have about 10 40ft poles at my house and 5 25 foot ones

Well I don't have worry about poles or slides in my station since everything is on the ground floor, But a few stations in our county have poles but most new stations are doing away with bunk rooms on the second floor and moving offices up there and putting in elevators for those that can't take the stairs. I been waiting to see a fire station with a escalator in it.

That slide looks like alot of fun. Not sure if any station where I live has a pole much less a slide anymore.

I'd be scared we wouldn't be able to get the guys out the door and to the scene...they'd be too busy playing on the slide!

I want one!!!! it looks cool but can you imagine being the guy that gets stuck in there. It wouldnt be as fun then and i bet the static electricity build up would be phonomidal. after a ride in that i dont think i would want to be around anything flammable

nothing worse then sliding the pole and forgetting your pants in the bunk room
