Fire Departments Having Fun at Their Awards Banquets

I'm sure each department has an awards banquet at the end of the year. When the dinner and award presentations are finished, the party starts. We have a Dj and we party until early morning hours. This is our time to enjoy ourselves and relax for a night. We got other departments that stand by at our station all night until 7 or 8 the next morning. This allows the alcohol to wear off.

idon't drink that often. we have some of our members that enjoy drinking we usally have dinner and awards and then leave. some of our member may meet at people houses and enjoy the evening. i think thats good to get out and enjoy each out.

We have one around christmas. We also have another department on auto-aide for us, but we make sure that there are enough DD's that are around that we could run an engine if need be and to make sure everyone gets home safe.

We don;t have to worry about things like this. We have a back in cover for about 4 hrs, and then it's back to work. Department policy does not allow alcohol at ANY department related function. Seems we are able to have just as much "fun" without it.
