We use Stihl for our k12's and our chainsaws. It's the only thing I've ever used so I dont have much to compare them too but just the same, I dont have any complaints. When I first got out of high school, I worked for a tree service company and we used all Stihl. I've never had any problems with them
In my last department we had both the Stihl, and Partner K-12's
I feel as if each one worked just as well as the other.
I would go with the one that has a service rep close by. We have Stihl

My recommendation would be the Stihl because most small engine repair shops carry repair parts for Stihl.

Just my 2 cents!

TCSS
I use both. I prefer the Stihl.
The partner K12 is my recommendation. Make sure you hold on to it! We use the K12 and ventmaster both are verry reliable.
We have a mix of Stihl and K-12 for our rotary saws and Stihl and Husquevarna for our chainsaws.
They all do the job.
I bought the Stihl MS460 rescue saw this year. It is hands down a solid performer. And I agree with some of the comments that most small engine repair shops will work on the Stihl.
Bryan, we have both. The Partner saw is a piece of crap. The belt driven idea dosnt cut it (pun intended).
The Stihl saw cuts what ever you put in front of it. Same with the Huskvarna Saw. It is also imperative to have the right blade or appropriate cutting edge or you can have the best saw and be un-successful. Sawzall also will do the trick for you in most applications.
