We don't have class-consciousness here. Everyone wears the same colour jacket, the same colour shirt, the same badge (mind you, we only have 'badges' on hats, not shirts). The only thing that is at all different is that volunteers have a 'rocker' under their shoulder patch, career people don't.
At our department all the officers have gold badges, name plates and collar pins. We also wear white shirts and the rest of the department wears blue shirts with silver name plates, badges and collar pins.
We use the following colors:
Chief- solid gold
Lt, Capt, Asst. chief, Dep. chief- two tone gold & silver ( badge is silver and rocker pannels are gold)
FF's- all silver
Definatley gold for the chief. In my department the chief and and asistant chief's wear gold with white shirts and hats, and the captains, lt's, and firefighters wear silver with blue shirts.
