No I wouldnt, But if that is the field of work they want to do then I would have to support them 100%. Knowing the dangers involved I dont think I would like my other half doing that type of work.
That haveing been said my wife was an EMT in Las Vegas for 7 yrs before I met her, now she choose to persue a law degree. Which by the way makes me feel better ( I know it sounds dumb but thats the way I feel).
I would have to go with no on this one. First of all, that would almost have to mean that I would be dating someone within my department (as the next nearest department is almost an hour from where I live... we cover a lot of ground). I would although, date someone else who does shift work. It would be nice to spend time with someone who also values time and the delicate nature that is a fixed schedule! lol
My husband and I are both volies and we are fine working together. He is my Deputy Chief, I respect him as an officer and he respects me as a firefighter and an EMT. It is nice having someone who understands what we do and knows the stress that is involved sometimes in this field.
