Major Enhancements to Firefighter Nation, Including Improved Message Center, Friend Management, Profile Page Adjustments and an iPhone Interface
Last night, our platform had a major upgrade that has added quite a bit new functionality to the site.
The biggest changes are to the Message Center and Friend Request interface. Here's the scoop on the changes, and you can click on any of the images for a full size version of the screenshot.
Your Message Inbox and Friend Management center have moved from the top bar to the login box once you've signed into the network.
To view the new message center, just click the Inbox link in the welcome box. There, you'll see all of your messages in a more traditional e-mail center, with separate tabs for incoming messages, sent and an improved ability to archive old messages. You'll also get a short teaser of each message.
You can also easily select to compose a new message to any or all of your friends. On messages themselves, you'll be able to easily see the entire chain of your messages with other members.
If you visit the 'My Friends' link in the welcome box, you'll now be taken to a fresher presentation. You'll see a tab for your existing friends, including an easy 'X' icon to remove friends. You can also easily search friends.
A second tab takes you to your pending friend requests sent. If you have any requests from other members to be friends, a tab for that will show up as well. Just visit each tab, and you can easily add and remove friends, withdrawl or accept friend requests.
Plus, when you request to add someone as a friend, you'll have an option to also add a personal message to that friend request.
One of the best improvements is being able to quickly browse to a member's profile right from the friend request or message.
Profile Page Adjustments
On your personal profile page, you'll see that your profile title has moved to the center column and additional padding has been added.
To allow for consistency in presentation, your blogs will now inherit the site's main theme. There have also been improvements to the 'Share/Send to Friend' links within content such as forums, blogs and multimedia.
You'll also notice that on the left side of profiles there is a linked summary of what content has been posted by the user, such as photos or discussions.
Last, but certainly not least, is a new version of Firefighter Nation designed for the iPhone. Just go to

Please take a moment to login and check out these great enhancements!
