We brought in a cadet with some minor problems . Our hope was to get him going down the right path we thought that was where he was going till Friday . He had decided to tell the principal that he was going to kill him now there is charges against him . Right now he is suspended until court and then we will see what will happen then . We have work with some boys before that needed some guidance and they turned out alright . I guess the odds were against us . Do ya'll work with kids like that or do they have to come in squeaky clean ?
Seems to me he has some issues that need more help than what you are able to deal with.....this young man need psychological help as well as maybe a little behavior modification....Look into a "Scared Straight" program....I work with one part-time through my workplace and sometimes it can get to 1 or 2 people....if thats the case it was worth the effort on our part....BUT....I definitely would NOT want this person in my department or working with my epuipment.....I would fear that he may snap and go postal on us......Just my 2 cents on the subject.....Paul

You have to help this boy.We all remember when we were a kid and the troubles we felt.Seek to find out why he is doing this.Don not give up yet.Go to him and make sure he understands the "time for the crime" and what he has to lose.If you know you did everything in your power , Then find someone that can help.We give up to easily these days.Remember, we all messed up as kids. Some of us can't do any better as adults.Good luck and if I can help, let me know.Be safe.
We have been working with him about 8 months now his mom needed the help so we did . She said he was doing good and now we don't know what happened just went right on over to the deep end i guess .
Im all for giving someone a second chance But for now this cadet should be a "person of interest" keep a close eye on this person. If no charges come about place him on probation This may give him a reason to keep his nose clean. Its worked for us in the past
How about taking him to a good career fire dept. and show him what this could lead to if he can stay focused.Maybe call ahead and set it up with the fire fighters at the station to give him a great tour and time. Maybe if he sees a good future, this will help.Good luck.

nope we'll help them out too, but we wont condone what they did and let the law handle the problem, but we'll be their to show him the right way but he needs to want to follow it if not theres nothing that can be done
