About Me:
"The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, beholding the evil and the good."
Proverbs, 15.3
I think after having someone fall down an embankment at the age of 13, and feeling helpless to do anything about it, I decided to do this line of work. After Getting certified as an EMT basic, I have had my share of car accidents that have happened right in front of me as if GOD said "This is why you are on this earth, Now get to work."
Why I Love Fire/EMS
NOTHING BEATS THE FEELING OF KNOWING THAT YOU WERE ABLE TO BE IN A POSITION TO DO SOMETHING RIGHT THERE AT THE SCENE OF AN EMERGENCY.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Threats from secondary devices, and terrorism. Threats from devices or methodologies that are foreign to responders. In addition, there is the growing trend of "home grown" terrorists that attack from within.
In addition the threat of chemical radiological and thermonuclear devices in the hands of terrorists is on the rise.

Thanks for the encouragement. Tough is okay. I like a challenge. (Okay, so admittedly often like the challenge better AFTER it is completed somewhat successfully!) I'm in the middle of week 6 with a week and a half to go yet. The first couple weeks, I know for sure that if God hadn't pointed me in this direction and said "Go" it might have been very tempting to just give up. But knowing this is where He wants me to be made it easier. Just take it one day at a time, and at the end of a tough day, I can look back and say "I survived another day, thank you God!" It has been a great class, and a great experience. Sorry, I'm rambling. I tend to do that when I'm a little tired and/or wired... I'm both tonight ;-) !! Hey, take care, be safe!

Hello, saw your latest response to firefighter quotes and got a chuckle out of that-- move like you got a purpose! I'm currently attending the Ohio Fire Acadamy's 240 program, and one of our catch-phrases is "Move with a SENSE of URGENCY." Just thought I would say hello from Ohio! Take care, be safe.

Holy mother of God.
Arizona just got smacked with a huge monsoon storm that packed category 2 hurricane strength winds up to 100 mph. There were trees uprooted , flooding, powerlines literally ripped out of the ground and houses and businesses destroyed. Phoenix averaged at least 5 inches of rain an hour due to smaller storm cells converging and blending into one huge temper tantrum from mother nature.
We had over 10,000 lightening strikes all night spaced out every one to two seconds. Miraculously no injuries or deaths as of yet, but an awesome testament to the wrath of God Himself.
