We have a 1927 Amarican LaFrance Pumper that was our first pumper it has been sitting around several years now and I would love to see it restored. It was running in 1998 that was the last time we put it in the parade. The tires had gotten so bad that we decided to park it. It has been kept in the fire station so its not in awful shape. It was stored outside after 1966 that was when it was taken out of service. Sometime in the late seventies they sandblasted it and painted it not a great job but could be worse but since then it has been stored inside.
I was wondering if anyone had any information on a historical grant or some kind of program for restoring old apparatus? I will try to add some pictures soon.

Right hand drive and the chain drive--awesome. Stay safe !
Wes,
You may want to contact a fire museum near you. There is probably someone there who has done what you want to do.
You might also check out this site. They have chapters all over the country dealing with the preservation and restoration of motorized fire apparatus.
