I want to buy an inexpensive siren system for my 95 Chevy pick up when I respond to calls with my VFD. I prefer a remote system with just the controller in the cab. The only features I need are wail, yelp and thunder and not much more unless it's advised. I did some research but need the advice of other FFs in the "business" on what to buy and where. Thanks.

Hey Billy

I'm Eric from Lee County FD South Caronlina. I just happen to have a siren and speaker for sale. It is the Low Profile Sho-me Siren (Wail, Yelp, Phazer, and Horn) and a 100w Sho-me Speaker. Both are in good working order. I know you said that you are looking for the Hide-a-Way Models....ME too but just to give you an idea. If you would Like some pics I can send them to you via e-mail. I have had the same siren set up in a 90' ford ranger and a 04 ford ranger. It is pretty much a universal mount. If you happen to fine someone who is wanting to buy it other then you just email me back and let me know. I also have a dealer down here that sales sho-me products.

Eric, thanks for the reply. I'll ask my buddies if any of them are interested in what you have. Does your dealer have a website or do you know my best bet of the hide-a-way models?
Try Galls I had a galls street thunder it was the standard model but they offer the same siren in the remote I think it cost somewhere around 100 bucks. I have a Code 3 in my truck and love it.
go to uniforms for 4 all.com and they got the cheapest stuff thats where i bought my siren and speaker
If you go to www.able2products.com IF you find what you want he can order it for you and !!!may be!!! able to ship it to you from the store or stright from Sho-me. I would have to ask him. Not sure about other people, but I know he gives us 20% on the cost price and his prices are usaully cheaper then the web site....
are you an assistant chief or jus firefighter? with my fire department and surrounding neighbor fire dept. only the chiefs and assistant chiefs are allowed a siren on there vehicle...wish it were the same for us, it would always help...where do yo volunteer
Thanks for your concern. I researched Texas laws and all VFD FF are allowed lights and sirens. I'm too old to do dumb stuff.
Thanks Justin, I bought my magnetic red rotators from Galls. You confirmed my thoughts--thanks again. I will zero in on a Code 3 siren.
Sorry I didn't answer your question. I'm on the South Franklin County VFD in far northeast Texas. Just joined in April and hold the rank of firefighter. Being out in a very rural area our VFD is all the community has. I lived in Dewitt, NY back in 1961-62. It's near Syracuse. What about you?
Justin, I didn't find the web site as you spelled it. I did find uniformswarehouse.com. They are really cheap. Thanks for your reply.
