This intensive 3.5-day training program is designed to train Ice Rescue Instructors to conduct NFPA 1670 compliant Ice Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician level courses. Instructor candidates must have approval by their department's chief officer or Training Officer in order to participate, and candidates must be in good physical condition, be strong swimmers, and have prior teaching experience. Instructor candidates will participate in 32 hours of instruction, including classroom and practical sessions conducted on and through the ice. Tuition includes lodging (Thursday through Sunday), and meals (Friday through Sunday), as well as all books and materials.
