 r candidates must have approval by their department's chief officer or
  Training Officer in order to participate, and candidates must be in g
 ood physical condition, be strong swimmers, and have prior teaching ex
 perience. Instructor candidates will participate in 32 hours of instru
 ction, including classroom and practical sessions conducted on and thr
 ough the ice. Tuition includes lodging (Thursday through Sunday), and 
 meals (Friday through Sunday), as well as all books and materials. For
