I've noticed a proponderence of really bad images of firefighting. I just seen a fire companies flickr account and seen 6 pages of a house burning. 1 pic of a FF standing outside by himself with a hose line on the fire and several pics of FF going inside. THEN 5 more pages of the house burnt down.

Of course this isn't the first time and I know most action takes place inside but when a pic shows NO hose lines going inside, No ladders thrown, one engine in front of the scene, then 10 FF's standing around it looks bad.

I don't know why we get before and after pics but very few during pics?

Well, there's one photo we'd use in a wildfire class. The "what not to wear" example. Full structural PPE and breathing apparatus at a wildfire? Perhaps the clothing in a cool climate, but BA? I can only talk about here, but those six people would be told to get in their truck and leave.

Yes, I do know there are places where people are not issued wildfire PPE or may have to purchase their own gear, two issues in themselves.
well there are always good pics off outStanding firefighters fighting fires from the OUTSIDE you do not see any pics of firefighters actualy doing work because this is rare and fighting fire from the inside is Dangerous. Every time p there are pic of firefighters actualy doing work some one starts going off about NFPA codes I thing that this is because the person that is quating the nfpa codes has never fought a fire or is jealous.
I couldn't agree more. I know in Baltimore you guys operate fairly similar to us.(DCFD) Probably why I agree with a lot of what you say on here. There are a lot of videos online of us and almost all of them seem to have a comment or two about how we are doing something dangerous or how we shouldn't be inside. Some don't realize that we had plenty of training in our academy and see this stuff a lot more often. It's not as dangerous as it looks. There's a reason we don't have as many "big" fires in DC as smaller cities do. It's because we are aggressive and get the job done fast before the fire grows. People don't understand that if you put out the fire, there's no more danger.
Craig, what do you think? Do you agree with the people saying "too busy"?
yes here are some

Not my department, but I like this picture because the garage is pumping out lots of fire and the attack crew have a decent fight ahead of them.

Are you guys serious? If you watch firefighter videos or look at pictures you're a pyro and like to see people's things burn? That's ridiculous. We have plenty of pictures. And no, it doesn't mean we aren't focused on doing our job since others are saying they have no pictures because they don't have time for that. My city still gets at least one fire every day. People around have cameras and things get put up online. It's not as big of a deal as some make it out to be. Of course like mentioned before, putting them up online gets people to sit around and criticize our tactics since most people these days do everything by the book and think they know it all. I love looking at pictures of my department. http://www.dcfd.com That's my rant for the day. haha
Given your (madly incorrect) misspelling of HIPAA (or your confusing it with hepa filters (still madly wrong)) you likely don't really understand what HIPAA is. Nothing says you can't post pictures of a fire, that is not what HIPAA is protecting.

That you can't spell HIPAA nor do you apparently know what it is and that you gleely proclaim both your "...love to see things burn..." and that you (your own admission) are a "...pyro..." makes me question your abilities and training.

As badly as some photographs can reflect on a department or on the fire service in general, so too can careless, stupid or ignorant public comments.
Naw...we just stand around playing with ourselves until the beer truck shows up....congratulations...this is the dumbest post I have seen to date.....LOL.......
OK none of those are pictures of FF actually putting out a fire. They are squirting water on burnt dirt.
