About Me:
Firefighter, Captain, Assistant Chief, Fire Chief. Enjoyed the most at being a Training Officer. Taught at FDIC. Instructor for the University of Missouri Fire Rescue Training Institute. Taught Tactics and Strategy at the St. Louis Comminity College Fire Technology Program. Today, as a retired member of the firefighting community, I teach a class titled "Timely" and "Appropriate" Ventilation, A Tactical Priority. This class includes instruction on using Positive Pressure Attack.
Initially was side tracked by a career in the U. S. Marine Corps, but while in the Corps became a Non-Paid Professional Firefighter in various regions of the country and then after retirement became a Career Firefighter. Took me a little time, but I did follow in my dad's footsteps who spent 31 years with the St. Louis Fire Department.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Teaching other firefighters and sharing information
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Changing the mindsets of interior firefighting attack crews to think safer and smarter. The enemy has changed and we cannot continue to operate "The Way We Have Always Done It".

Hi mate thank you for your comment! I will find some info for you on our compartment fire procedures and email it to you. Again thank you for your reply, and yes it does appear to me that that mind set prevails a bit over there :) Good to "meet" you mate, stay safe!

I'll let my son know, and thanks.
He's currently on a WestPac deployment.
He flies F/A 18-D's, and loves it.
I live in Beaufort County, SC, the home of "Love for the Marine Corps".
Were you ever assigned to Parris Island or MCAS Beaufort during your active duty days?
Also, thanks for the PPV info.
We're still researching it, but your information has been a big help.
Thanks,
Ben
I'm looking to replace my department's PPV videos and rather dated Tempest PPV course materials and instructor guides.
Do you have any recommendations for my new purchases?
Thanks,
Ben Waller
