College - Emergency Management in the Fire Service? HELP PLZ
Will having a BS in Emergency Management help your chances of getting on a paid fire dept? I have an AAS in Fire Science but wanting to continue education. I'm torn between getting this or going for my Paramedic any help would greatly be appreciated.

Paramedic certification will probably help you more in the short term - lots of places give hiring preference to paramedics. On the other hand, and Emergency Management bachelor's degree will probably help you more in the long run if you ever want to promote to a senior staff position with a career department. That's particularly true if you wish to be hired by an all-hazards department.
