The applications for the National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) Junior Firefighter Scholarship and Grant Program are due May 15. The application and criteria for the competitive scholarships are available online at
www.nvfc.org/ScholarshipProgram. Departments must be registered in order for their juniors to apply. Registration is free and time is running out – submit your application today.
The Scholarship and Grant Program is made possible through the support of the Dunkin’ Brands Community Foundation. Ten outstanding junior firefighters will receive a $5,000 scholarship towards their higher education and their departments will receive a $5,000 grant to further their youth program. Department members and junior firefighter program coordinators are encouraged to inform their junior members about this opportunity.
The scholarships and grants will be awarded at Firehouse Expo on July 24 in Baltimore, MD. Winning junior firefighters and their departments will be notified in advance of Firehouse Expo and will receive travel to the event courtesy of the Dunkin’ Brands Community Foundation along with complimentary admission courtesy of Firehouse Expo.
