Looking to get as much information from the field about the Hurst E - Draulics from members that have been using them on their rigs. I have seen them in action while training and had local hurst rep come demo for our shift and was very impressed. Looking for as much info as possible pros and cons.. thanks

We have them at a volunteer dept that I work at. I like the concept, but in reality, Im against them. They are extremely heavy and awkward to use. The battery has an OK life IF they were recharged after last use. I like the concept of not having lines hooked to you, but carrying around the power unit on each tool, just isn't a lot of fun using them. They do work well for the first 10 minutes. I don't think they work as fast as Hydraulic equipment, especially after a few minutes of use.
They have their place, but for the cost, I would recommend going with Holmatro Core system. The price is comparable I believe, and one person can carry the power unit, line and tool by themselves. Its a small power unit that runs 2 lines, (DPU-31). I have used Hurst, Amkus, Lucas, Res-Q-Tek, and I am sure some others.... Nothing like the Holmatro. It took me a while and some training to be sold on Holmatro, but I wouldn't go with anything else now. The power unit is quiet, you can talk while standing next to it. Auto throttle, its lightweight, I believe the unit is 47lbs, compared to the Amkus unit at 115lbs.
Thats my .02, good luck and test all the equipment before you buy it. If you put them side by side with Holmatro, I guarantee you will not like using the battery equipment.
Just remember if you buy the battery equipment, order several extra batteries.
Thanks for the input.
