I have been wearing a 1010 for about 16 years ( not the same one ) . How much heavier is a N6A than a 1010 ?

A Cairns N5A New Yorker weighs 77oz and an N6A Sam Houston weighs 75oz

Our 1010"s with the defender shield weighs 61oz so my new yorker weighs 1lb more.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the helpful information . That is exactly what I was looking for . I will have my new N6A very soon it will be a present to myself for having 20 years in my fire department . I have wanted one for a long time so what better time to get one . they sure aren't getting any cheaper ether .

I bought mine as a 25 yr anniv gift to myself.Plus they look cool ,way better than the regular traditional.

I will be getting mine at the Harrisburg Pa. Fire Expo in May from The Fire Store booth , so I will even get the the chance to hand pick the one I get . Last year they had probably 30 to 40 leathers on display . My son ( 11 years old ) is starting to be a big leather fan too said " don't pick one that's real tall  " he like the lower profile like my 1010 that I have now . I have noticed looking at some photos online that even like the same N6A some actually do look taller than others . Or is this just my imagination ? Anyway ,  to make a long story short I'm really extricated ( like a little kid ) to finally be getting a leather helmet .

Good for you . If you look at an New Yorker and a 1010 side by side their the same height now I'm not sure on the difference of ride height...know what I mean.

I will have to tell my son that about the height . Would the height on a New Yorker and the Sam Houston be the same ?

Should be. I'm not 100% sure though.
