JAFFREY, N.H. (AP) — Nearly 100 firefighters from 12 towns have helped put out a fire a New Hampshire wood pellet plant. Firefighters say the fire started at New England Wood Pellet Company in Jaffrey just after 6 p.m. Thursday.

News of the New England Wood Pellet Company fire in Jaffrey told of firefighters from anywhere between 12 and 14 towns responding to the blaze. Having command of an incident requiring personnel from over a dozen departments can be daunting. The Accountability sector may need to be managed by more than one individual. Fortunately, as is the case with nearly all fireground operations, training can help work out bugs, improve communication and foster better working relationships.

I responded to this fire. It was handled very well. As FFN WebChief noted another fine example of how a progressive volunteer fire department can do ICS / Accountability with the best of them. The CP handled tons of mutual aid responders, some coming from neighboring Massachusetts. 20 min PAR's throughout this entire multi-day event. Kudos to the JFD. FETC
