Cairns faceshield
Hello brothers and sisters of FFN. I have recently accired a Cairns 1972 Model 660 C Metro Firehelmet. It is in decent shape but the faceshield is tore up big time and im looking to restore it. My question is are all faceshield universal or do i need to get a faceshield for that exact model and YEAR.

Your helmet is almost 40 years old and i realize you are a Jr/explorer, I hope you did not spend much money on it , but why buy a helmet that old ? As far as replacement shield , the newer cairns 4" shield should work on your helmet as long as you can get the aluminum screws off with out breaking them(maybe plastic) good luck, also maybe look at getting a newer more compliant helmet .

Bill-- first off thank you for the advice, I looked on firestore and found one. Second the helmet was given to me so there has been no out of pocket spending so far... Im looking to restore it for display not use; sort of a summer project.
