Plus a long-handle stiff bristle brush. Soak the hose, mix dish soap in bucket, scrub hose with soapy brush, flip hose over, same process on flip side until the oil is gone, then rinse and dry...oila! Any persistent spots---try carpet stain remover.

All of this is on the right track, but before you do all of the work, loosely coil the hose in a large washtub, run warm (not hot) water until it barely covers the hose. Put in a large amount of Dawn or similar kitchen soap, run in additional warm water, and just let it soak for 24 hours.

The soap will penetrate the hose fabric and any oil that isn't broken up will just float on the water. Once the oil floats off, add water with the hose under the oil layer/sheen and overfill the tub until the oil flushes off. (Have a place to catch/absorb the oil if it's more than a sheen)

Once you get this done, then do the steps that Norm recommended.
Once those steps are done, if the hose is obviously damaged, has frayed fibers, soft spots, serious oily feel to the jacket, etc. then cut the undamaged hose ends off to make pony sections and trash the contaminated hose.

There are several things you can do with the un-contaminated hose, but that's another topic.

Excellent advice Ben as always.
Question...would an industrial hose washer take care of that? We had one in our last dept and was just thinking of that until you mentioned pre-soaking.

I don't know for for sure, but the soak should help, regardless.
