Huh, whaddya say?
Communication in 2011...

hmmm...

isn't that something that happens only between computers and electronic equipment?

as in... "when my satellite dish is broken my tv can not communicate with the satellite and we have to go to the neighbors to experience communication over there on their tv!"
Marriage is an institution.Everybody should spend at least a little bit of time in an institution.
Seriously,if anybody ever says it's easy, they have never been in a SERIOUS relationship. It's work. All the time.
Is it worth it?YES.
Unfortunately this a bad line of work to be in for relationships for a wide variety of reasons.
hmmm...

so once you get out of the straight jacket institutional part... what is the secret to making it decade after decade?

is there a way to prevent the straight jacket feeling BEFORE it arrives?

.
There is a theory that any two people can be in a relationship - even married - it is a matter of choice and decision making...
Better ask somebody with a little more time than me.I just started on the 2nd decade.
Part of the secret is to have seperate hobbies and stay out of each others way for a few hours a day.Not ALL the hobbies need to be seperate.Wasn't too clear on that part.
Just speaking for myself,we get along a lot better if my ugly mug dissapears for a while everyday.
2nd decade... that is pretty damn good... most people these days seem to ditch the relationship a few years in...

So SPACE... is a final frontier... in your theory... good to know.

There is great wisdom in what you say... do not discount 14 years - that is 3/4 of your adult life.. that is a PRETTY AWESOME RECORD !!!

Yes there is research done on couples that have been togetherfo 40-50 years and they report that more than 1/2 of their world MUST be made up of other interests outside of their spouse

while some new couples (and newly retired from work couples) make the fatal error of joining their lives like this

[the extreme... two shall become one]

instead they must join more like this picture below by looping their hands together in a smaller, yet strong way, leaving aspects of their lives involved in other arenas to continue personal growth - and allow some time for your spouse to miss you ;-)

[these two shall join their rings to become one]

(sorry I could not find a picture quickly with the two hands looped together - but you get my point)
hmmm...

what is with this idea that female fire fighters must be lesbian?

what about us reflects that sexuality?

and why is it assumed male fire fighters can't be gay?

what about them does not reflect that sexuality?
If you can do the job I personally don't care what your orientation is.But I draw the line at trying to push it on somebody else.I am who I am and you are who you are and be happy with it.
it is an interesting matter.

no one think I my gay UNTIL I mention I use to be FF

and several of my female - hetrosexual friends really struggle with this on their dept as though a female can not do a physical job and still be a woman - attracted to men
Not a problem here.I can tell you a couple stories about it actually going the other way a few years ago.Just about sunk this dept. Not a good situation.
i want more details than that

use "a neighboring dept"
