Roof Collapse Injures Three Gary, Indiana Firefighters

GARY, Ind. - Three Gary firefighters have been injured in a roof collapse while fighting a blaze.

The Post-Tribune of Merrillville reports the firefighters were injured when the third floor of a burning building collapsed Tuesday. Their injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening, but they were taken to a hospital.

Battalion Chief Robert Groszewski says about 20 firefighters responded to the fire at the site of the former Campbell Friendship House. He says no one was at home when the fire began.

Groszewski says the fire may have begun in a third-floor stairwell.

I believe it was actually the ceiling not the roof that collapsed. And I believe all that was hurt where minor injuries thankfully.
Yep. Glad these guys are OK. Thank god it was just plaster and wire, and not the concrete above it. Get well boys.. rest up and get back on the horse!. Thoughts are with ya!
