Mattress-Filled Warehouse Fire Goes to Three-Alarms in Baltimore

BALTIMORE - Baltimore fire officials say they spent about 90 minutes putting out a three-alarm fire in a brick warehouse that was filled with mattresses.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, and more than 80 firefighters responded.

Capt. Roman Clark, a fire department spokesman, says the blaze was tough to put out because of all the mattresses inside the building.

The fire was placed under control shortly before 3 p.m. The cause is under investigation, and officials say the building's owner was on the scene assessing the damage.

We handle mattress fires in Philly with a booster line. Come on, you guys.
No kidding, I agree.. It's pretty easy for us to just carry em to the yard and soak em down out there....
Yeah cowboy, hold that to one and one and then whine when the administration browns out stations.
I usually don't have the patience for this, but I'll give it a shot.

Mike: captains with 33 years on the job are supposed to be able to recognize when captains with over 20 years on the job are being facetious. Usually, the more outrageous the statement, the greater is the likelihood that the statement is not to be taken seriously. In short, I was kidding. (Are you a vollie?)

Also, the brownouts that are happening in Philadelphia - along with the brownouts and station closings all over the country - are budget-driven. They're not happening because we often hold fires to "one and one". Trust me, we could routinely place the entire box in service for a burning roll of paper towels in Mrs. Jones' kitchen, and we'd still be getting browned out. It's not our tactics, but rather - as president Clinton once noted - "it's the economy, stupid".
And here I thought the title of the post, "Mattress-Filled Warehouse Fire Goes to Three-Alarms in Baltimore" to be a dead give-away to the facetiousness of your comment.
What do you mean by that, "cowboy"?
To which "cowboy" are you referring?
Cowboy/Jack/dt
The title of the post clearly said (and I could find nothing to contradict it) that it was a "Mattress-Filled Warehouse" which suggests it was more than one mattress and in all probability would have been well beyond the limit of a single booster line.

In other words, I got it.
Oh. I knew from the git-go that you got it. (Are you sure you're a vollie?)
I'm sure I'm not sure about a lot of things.
Is it "git-go" or "get-go?" Or does it even matter?
See, I'm not even sure about that.
In West Philly - you know, the place - it's git-go. Get-go is too.......correct.
