We get funding from the townships we contract with. The township monies pay for our insurance and very little else.
Each year we have a Bean Dinner Festival over the 1st weekend in October. This one event pays for 2/3 of our annual budget (Annual budget $27,000). Without our fundraiser, we'd go under!
I have spent 35+ years in Montreal ,Canada and Liberia, Africa providing fire services including protection, prevention and fire safety.
Please check out my site www.asafercandle.com for a fantastic idea. This "Fire Department Fund Raiser Special"
provides for a Win -Win situation.
It allows for much needed funding for Fire Depts. while providing emergency candles that will greatly reduce the chance of accidental candle fires in your communities.
Hi Rachel, I am a retired fire chief but still very involved in fundraising. YUou can check out the website Directsalesdistributing.com or contact me for further information. I could probably get some free samples oiut to you if you wish.

We aquire funds in many different ways. The tax $$$ from the patrons in our district is one way. Our chief applies for many grants, that pay for stuff like new bunker gear & the like. We also hold fund raisers for our fire association, such as a soup supper and a pancake feed. Some of our patrons will send donations to us in a thank you card for responding to thier needs. There are many ways to get the needed funds, you just have to seek them out and work for them. We're getting a new pumper this year, thanks to the hard work of our Rural Board & Officers! YAAAAA!!!! Think: Saftey First.
