Thought this was an interesting article, to summarize it there will be a total lunar eclipse occurring tonight (December 20th) into "tomorrow" (December 21st).  According to the attached article, it is the 1st total lunar eclipse to occur on the winter solstice since 1638.  The eclipse will begin around 1:30am EST with the total eclipse stage beginning at 2:41am EST, and lasting until 3:53am EST, an entire 72 minutes.

My thoughts exactly...
Exceptional photographs of the lunar eclipse. The west is being deluged right now... Clear skies are not a reality here. Thank you everyone who shared such stunning photography. Awesome!
