Out of all the many careers choices, opportunities and rewarding experiences, would you want your son or daughter to become a firefighter?

Firefighting is one of the most self less jobs around.  It takes loyalty and trust that is hard to find in any other career.  If your son or daughter said that they wanted to be firefighters, would you say "Absolutely!"

My parents aren't as overly pleased as I thought they would be- but they are backing me. When ever I have kids I will certainly back them 100%!
Yes, I would want them to.

But seeing as I choose the path of a firefighter (a VERy unexpected change according to my family)
I want my children to choose what they want to be.
My 15yr old son wants to join asap, which on my dept is the age of 18 so hes got a few years. As for me, I will have to agree with John, I will support my kids in any profession they want to pursue. At least if hes a Firefighter I can teach him what I know from my experiences. So yes even knowing the risks involved I would say "Absolutely".
I think it would be a really good experience for my kids to work at a firehouse. So i would say hell yes!!
My 16 year old son just made application to our department's junior firefighter program.  He has been around the fire service all his life and am proud of his decision to join.  Whatever career he choses, as long as it makes Jim happy, I support.
