US Fire Administration

The U.S. Fire Admnistration has announced the official line of duty death of Firefighter James Gumbert, 63, of the North Irwin Volunteer Fire Department, on November 10, 2010.

While responding to a residential structure fire, Firefighter Gumbert began experiencing chest pains and was rendered unconscious at the fire station. Some firefighters started CPR to revive him, while the rest responded to the fire scene. Paramedics transported Firefighter Gumbert to Forbes Regional Medical Center in Monroeville where he passed away.
