YEAH WE JUST GOT A NEW ENFORCER SO IT LOOKS LIKES IT WAS ONE OF THE LAST
well.like anything, If the offer Too many models keeping the line going is tough to do, In such a custom market hardly two are the same yet we want them delivered in like two weeks.. lets face itthe dash and lance had some limitations... specially in the cabsizes/available space... the quantum sortof addressed that, but geez they are freakin huge, speciually in the inner city invirons.. I know lots of times and places we've pulled up in our lance, and things were tight trying not toget hit by passing traffic, obviously the fold down steps could cause problems ib these instances ( to be honest they have done better then anticipated) The new Arrow xt's we've recieved but don't have in service yet are nice, But to be honest the gain in space over the lance is useless since we ride 4 minimun and 5 almost never, Obviously in the vollies the seating allows some flexability, but the Chauffer and officer are in just as cramped quarters as with the lance or dash.. In some ways I would prefer 4 solid models rather then 12 shaky models no?
It would have been very difficult for Pierce to keep them all around. The older ones would have to be completely re-engineered because of 2007 engine emissions requirements. It's also very hard to continue R&D on new models if departments are still buying the older ones cheaper. I know it sounds kind of bad, but that's the progression of business.

I've seen the Impel, and it is indeed impressive. With the new PUC, it's an awesome truck. Safety is incredible with the new chassis.

We just ordered a new rear mount rescue pumper on an Impel chassis, which should be here in December... can't wait! We also have a 1990 Dash (that we're selling because of the new truck), and a 1999 Saber. Pics/info at our website: http://www.etfd.org/.
