Officers at Volunteer Fire Companies

Last night we had our election nominations meeting for 2011. It's a challenge. We are running out of people to fill these positions.Is this true across the board? Are other companies finding the same thing?

It's tough. I see our Deputy and at least one Captain leaving in the near future.

Our provincial fire college acknowledges that it's hard to get people to the central college for training and try as many alternate delivery methods as possible.

We are kinda short on people but we are fortunate to be getting volunteers now that are in their 30's and 40's who have at least LEAD people before... just need fire experience and all-round 'time in'.
